…operators with Wi-Fi Networks
Make Wi-Fi roaming work for you with our technical enablers, templates and common user experience guidelines. Bring hotspots to more end users, and connect end users to more hotspots as easily as possible.
…operators without Wi-Fi Networks
Are you a mobile or broadband technology operator without a Wi-Fi offering? Whether your focus is fixed or wireless technology, you can work with the WBA and its members to offer Wi-Fi roaming and mobile data offload to your customers. We have developed a roaming framework that allows interoperability between platforms to help you to manage the mobile data explosion.
…roaming enablers and supporters
Join the roaming hub vendors, clearinghouse providers, technology vendors and others who have taken part in our open industry trials and benefited from key technical enablers developed by WBA. Or hear about the latest Wi-Fi innovations, network with us and our members and discuss future Wi-Fi developments at regular members’ meetings and the twice-yearly WBA Wi-Fi Global Congress.
…end users
The WBA is helping to enhance global coverage and inbound/ outbound roaming opportunities for end users. Common user experience guidelines will make it easier for end users to locate, identify and connect to Next Generation Hotspots while roaming.
WBA Roaming Guidelines
Please consult the WBA Roaming Guidelines for further information. The WBA Member Roaming Pack is a one-stop shop for all WBA approved specifications and documents for Wi-Fi Roaming. The pack provides a complete list of what WBA has to offer from all relevant perspectives, including marketing, commercial, legal, technical, other cross functions and back-end support. To receive the WBA Member Roaming Pack please contact the WBA.
The aim of the WBA’s Next Generation Hotspot (NGH) program is to deliver a public Wi-Fi experience that is as easy and secure as that experienced on cellular networks.
And that’s why we’re designing and specifying hotspots that are easier for users to find and access easier to find and access because devices can connect securely and automatically with no need to manually enter user names or passwords.
But we’re also designing and specifying these hotspots to be much, much more secure. The new hotspots feature similar levels of security to the cellular network including end-to-end radio link encryption and SIM authentication.
The result? A hotspot network that takes the heat off mobile broadband at busy times, through accessible, secure and above all reliable offload. Another step towards interoperability across networks, technologies and devices. And a key milestone in WBA’s goal to drive wireless broadband adoption globally.
The current WBA initiatives under the NGH program include NGH Trial, NGH Operator Guidelines, NGH Whitepapers (Business Drivers whitepaper, Security whitepaper and Maintaining the Profitability of Mobile Data Services) and engagement with key industry organizations (e.g, the GSMA, CableLabs and the Wi-Fi Alliance).
The NGH Trial is being driven by a strong participation of WBA membership. The work is being developed in different phases with the main objective of providing a “real world” end-to-end test:
·       Phase 1 (Completed): Secure and seamless authentication with automatic and network discovery and selection
·       Phase 2 (Completed): Complete end-to-end testing using Passpoint release 1 equipment (more than 20 test cases performed by each operator)
·       Phase 3 (In Progress – Open for enrollment): Operator policy for Wi-Fi networks and automatic online signup. Also, explore new location based services and advanced policy management.
So in conclusion global wifi will be free to use. It will also be help by google. What it does is that it gives people the chance to have Wifi.

My first 12 years of life

On February 25,2002 a beautiful baby girl was born. I was born in Althea, Kansas.
Now lets skip 2 years later. I am 2 years old now and at this time we are in Disney World. We are walking around the amusement park well I am riding in the stroller and my older sister gets lost. First, we had to go to security and tell them that we had lost her. Then, we had to sit and wait for my older sister. Once they found her we had to go back to the hotel and take a nap. Later that day we packed up and left to go back to Kansas. When we got home it was 12 at night and my sisters and I were really hyper. Our mom told us not to jump on her bed but we did it anyway.
My eldest sister, Sam, decided it would be fun to slide off the bed headfirst. So being my 2-year-old mind I thought I should do the same thing. Instead of sliding off the bed I fell off and hit my arm against my mom’s dresser. I heard a cracking noise and started to cry and scream. My sisters ran out of the room to go get my mom and dad. Once they got to the room the took me to the hospital. We had to wait like 30 minutes to get to a room. Once they got a room they had me go take an X-ray. Once the results came through they told us that I had broke my ar. They gave me a sling
until I got my cast. A day later I had to go back to the hospital to get my cast on.
A couple months after that my dad got fired and then got a new job offer in Knoxville, Tennessee. So we packed up the house and moved to Tennessee. I had to go to a new pre-school. We only spent like 6 months there because my dad got a new job offer again in Knoxville, Iowa. So we moved to Iowa. Once we got there I remember my mom and dad fighting. They are going to get divorced at the time. So he left to go to Virginia to be with his girlfriend. We lived there for three years so it was my K-2 grade years. My mom decided to go and be with family so we were going to go back to Knoxville, Tennessee. Once we got there we had to stay at my grandparent’s house because we had not bought the house yet. A week later we got the house and I had to start school. On the first day of school I was so nervous because every one had been there since kindergarten. So I made friends and loved al of the teachers I had. The now it comes to the first year of Middle school for some reason I was not nervous. To be honest sixth grade year was the best year of all my school years. It was the best year because I met my two best friends Katie Courtney and Georgia Neubert. I also had the Aladdin to do which was a fun but emotional time. So those were my first 12 years of life.
